Detailed Call Description
This prize supports a culture within research and innovation organisations and companies allowing women to become the innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. The prize is awarded every year to women from across the EU and countries associated to Horizon Europe, who have transformed their ideas into disruptive innovations to benefit people and the planet.
The European Prize for Women Innovators is organised jointly by the Agency and the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). The winners are chosen by an independent expert jury.
The EIT Women Leadership category will be funded and managed by the EIT following the same broad approach and the same timetable.
There are two prize categories:
- The Women Innovators prize, awarded to the most talented women innovators from across the EU and Associated Countries.
- The Rising Innovators prize, awarded to promising young innovators under the age of 35.
Eligible applicants can only apply to one category.
Prize:
- In the “Women Innovators” category, the winner is awarded €100.000, and two runners-up are awarded €70.000 and €50.000 respectively.
- In the “Rising Innovators”, category, the winner is awarded €50.000, and two runners-up are awarded €30.000 and €20.000 respectively.
Eligibility For Participation Notes
In order to be eligible, all applicants must be women (women in all their diversity), established in an EU Member State (including overseas countries and territories, OCTs) or a country associated to Horizon Europe. The applicants must be the founder or co-founder of the company or organisation, established in an EU Member State (including overseas countries and territories, OCTs) or a country associated to Horizon Europe, and registered or incorporated at least two years before the call year. Applicants who have already received an EU or Euratom prize cannot receive a second prize for the same activities.
Those applying for the “Rising Innovator” category must be under the age of 35 at the start of the call year (those applying for the Rising Innovator prize must be born on or after 1 January 1989).
There is no age limit to apply for the Women Innovators or EIT Women Leadership prize.
Applicants eligible for all prize categories, can only apply to one category.
